You have experience building a strong brand, and you always looking for new and exciting ways to bring a brand to life and capture the hearts of new and returning consumers. You are creative and love to create compelling content about our brand, our products, and our fearless founder. You can lead integrated marketing efforts across e-commerce, social media, wholesale, and PR channels. You love data analytics because it guides and reveals your strategy, and you love to measure and report your results. You live by short and long-term financial goals and obsess over hitting them. You are comfortable with wearing lots of hats and leading a variety of marketing functions: digital/performance, brand, product, wholesale, and influencer. You are fast-paced, flexible, and crave the front seat on the exciting and sometimes crazy ride of a high-growth company. 

 

The Marketing Director Role

As the Director of Marketing, you are responsible for developing marketing strategy and leading the marketing team on execution. You’ll oversee the marketing team, including brand, creative, product, influencer, and digital marketing for both direct-to-consumer and emerging wholesale channels. You have strong business acumen and can lead Rags.com and performance marketing efforts to drive revenue. You have a strong understanding of current marketing tools, trends, and strategies as well as technical experience and apparel or consumer product industry experience. This position reports to the President. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the marketing team including brand, digital, social, PR, e-commerce, and wholesale.
  • Lead the charge on finding and converting new customers, knowing our consumer, mapping her journey, and engaging with our consumers and our community
  • Be able to come up with endless creative ideas and campaigns that make the consumer experience fun, refreshingly different, and unexpected. 
  • Select and lead external marketing agencies and contractors to drive outstanding results, directing them on strategy, holding them accountable, recommending spend, and ensuring strong ROAS and new consumer growth and retention
  • Build budgets and spend wisely to generate efficient investment in sales and growth. 
  • Create social media, brand, and PR strategy that builds buzz and engagement around the story of Rags and founder/CEO Rachel Nillson
  • Leverage and grow the Rags social media groups and followers, creating strong communities, making shopping fun, and engaging with our fiercely loyal customer with a strong focus on new customer acquisition. 
  • Lead email marketing strategy that optimizes the customer journey and lifetime value
  • Obsess over the Rags.com experience, leading U/X design, merchandising, and performance
  • Create a team culture of creativity and innovation

 

Skills & Experience Requirements

  • 5+ years of marketing leadership including overseeing brand and digital at an apparel, soft goods, baby/kid, or consumer product e-commerce company
  • Proven record of leading growth, especially early or mid-stage growth companies
  • Brand management experience at a consumer brand company
  • Experience creating and managing multimillion dollar marketing budgets
  • E-commerce expert on optimizing site for both brand and performance, including SEO and SEM optimization
  • Proven record of Influencer marketing and PR to drive brand awareness and traffic
  • Experience developing marketing assets and campaigns for digital and brick-and-mortar retail, including digital ads
  • Strong presentation and written/verbal communication skills and ability to report up to Leadership Team and Board
  • Creative problem-solver with a strong bias toward action
  • Passionate about being a great leader who inspires, hires, and creates a fun, high-performance team
  • BA/BS degree, MBA or marketing leadership at a growth company is a big plus
  • This position is remote, but must live in the Salt Lake Metropolitan area.
